Radon Gas

Radon is a radioactive gas given off by naturally occurring radioactive material in the earth. As this radioactive material decomposes, it releases radon gas which then attempts to vent into the atmosphere. Depending on the location of this radioactive material and ventilation pathways in ledge and soil beneath our homes, some homes may have high levels of radon. The Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the State of Massachusetts' Department  of Environmental Protection consider radon gas to be the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers. Testing for radon gas can inform you if a remediation system is needed, or is functioning properly. The radon testing fee is $135.00
